Book BB Page 99 State of North Carolina Elizabeth City Know all men by these presents that where by a certain deed in Trust from MARIANNER WILLIAMS, THOMAS BIDDLE, CHRISTOPHER BIDDLE & HENRY S. WILLIAMS to SAMSON LURRY and JOSEPH REED dated the 11th of April 1816 for certain lands & tenements in Elizabeth City-North Carolina a Jurar to appoint another Trustee was then conveyed and where JOSEPH REED Aic? Sumires? of sd Reed & Leri did as sister of his see James by his deed dated the 4th of September 1833 duly assign out to me all his interest in sd deed and hereby constitute me Trustee as fully as if I had been therein named and where by the form in sd deed conveyed. I did Bargain and sell unto JNO. M. BUTLER one certain lot mentioned in sd deed and situates in Elizabeth City and designated in Avefiden? of sd term as lot No 23- Now know ye that I JAMES MERRELL for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred and Two dollars recvd to be paid by the sd JNO. M. BUTLER have given granted & bargains and sold and by these presents do give grant & bargain and all to the sd JNO. M. BUTLER the sd lot No. 23 lying in the sd town of Eliz. City- containing one half acre to him and his heirs and assigns frvr To have and to hold to the sd. JOHN M. BUTLER & his heirs and assigns frvr to his and their own profit care benefit & upkeep forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of December AD. 1833.
