Book BB Page 132 State of North Carolina Pasquotank County This Indenture of agreement made and entered into this 8th day of February 1834 between JAMES MERRELL of the city of Philadelphia & JNO WILLIAMS of the land of Elizabeth City in Nor. Carolina—Witnesseth that whereas MARIANNER WILLIAMS –THOMAS BIDDLE-CHRISTAIN BIDDLE & HENRY I. WILLIAMS did convey certain lands & tenements lying and being in said town to JOSEPH REED & SAMSON IVY as per their deed under dates April the 11th 1816 to be forever on the Registers Book in the County of Pasquotank and whereas herd? JOSEPH REED & SAMSON IVY took the sd. Property upon certain trusts therein received and surely sd deed authorized to appoint such others trustee as they or either of them should tender proper and whereas the sd. SAMSON IVY determined making any such appointment and whereas the sd. JOS. REED did by his deed surrender to the sd. JAMES MERRELL all his right & title to the sd. Premises & estate and did appoint him the sd JAMES MERRELL trustee and truly confes upon him the sd. JAMES sck? the pervison originally confired upon the sd. JOSEPH REED & SAMSON IVY acknowledges that I JAMES MERRELL of the city of Philadelphia for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the sd. JNO. WILLIAMS forever give granted bargained and sold to him sd. JNO. WILLIAMS all these lot of lands & appertenances now occupied by him and know and designated in the place of the town by seconds?? ditch {No. 9} recd also the seccetes??? lot being diretly east of the clear divided lot and locase? did on the North and the Eastard facing lot now occupied by FELIX JEFFRY and on the Westerly by the street called first street and another Southerly north first street and in the East by Pasquotank River and designated in then fellow of the town as B one (1) To have & to hold the aged? bargained & granted forever to him the sd. JON. WILLIAMS his heirs & assigns forever-to his may once same lesefid? & behoof firm? . In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.
