William Wright deed 1721

(Transcribed by Harry Schoettle) Pasquotank County, N.C. Deed Records 1700-1747, pages 276 and 277 North Carolina. To all christian people to whom these presents shall come greeting. I Francis DeLamare for the valuable consideration of forty pounds to me in hand paid or secured to be paid by William Wright of the precinct of Pasquotank and province aforesaid this receipt where I do hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part or parcel thereof do fully, clearly and absolutely acquit , exhonorate and discharge the said William Wright, his heirs, exec., admins and assigns by there presents have given, granted, bargained, sold, a leined and insucessed, confirmed and make over unto the said William Wright, his heirs, execs., admins.,and assigns forever a tract of land and plantation 240 acres lying and being on the north east of Pasquotank river, Torkseys and Josh Gilford plantation and commonly called Akehurst Ridge with all houses, orchards, pasturings, fencings, fields, woodlands ground and all clear ground with all timber trees standing, growing on the said land. Together with all rights, uses, customs, privileges, considerations and assurances to the law belonging or assertaining. To have and to hold the said 240 acres of land and plantation hereby bargained and or intended and meant to be hereby granted, bargained and sold with all an singular other rights, uses and customs, profits, privileges, considerations and assertenances to this said belonging to the only use, benfit, behoof of him the said William Wright, his heirs, execs., admins., and assigns forever and I the said Francis DeLamare for myself, my heirs, execs and administrators and assigns do covenant grant and agree to and with the said William Wright, his heirs and assigns that at the time of the unsealing and delivering these presents I have a good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same and shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter warrant and defend the said bargained premises with every part and parcel thereof from the claim right and title or pretended claim right and title of any person or persons claiming from by or under their or any or written of them. And I the said Francis DeLamare for me, for my heirs, executors and administrators do covenant, grant and agree to and with the said William Wright, his heirs and assigns to make do and execute and perform or cause to be made executed and performed any other deed or deeds, act or acts, thing or things, device or devices, assurance or assurances whatsoever as in the law shall be advised, devised or required. And lastly that the said William Wright his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns shall and may have hold and occupy and peacebly possess and enjoy the aforesaid premises. I bind me myself, my heirs, execs, admins. Firmly by these presents. Witness my hand and seal this 20th day of July anni dom 1721. Francis DeLamare, seal Test W.
