David Lewis Woody ~ 2007

David Lewis Woody, 59, of Southern Shores, N.C., died Sept. 4, 2007, at 
the family residence. 
Born Sept. 26, 1947, in Roanoke, Va., David was the son of Billy Carr Woody
and the late Luella Frances Martin Woody. 
David Woody was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served honorably with the 
U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972. 
After leaving the armed services, David studied pharmacology at the Medical
College of Virginia and upon graduation, pursued a career as a retail 
pharmacist. 
David and Louanne, his wife of 37 years, moved to the Outer Banks in 1993. 
David was always ready to hear or share a story with his customers. He
will be greatly missed and remembered by family and friends as a loving 
husband and dad. 
He also treasured his dog, Boo, and spent many pleasurable hours fishing 
with friends at the Outer Banks Fishing Pier. 
Left to cherish the memory of David Lewis Woody are his devoted wife, 
Louanne Woody; two sons, Bryan David Woody and wife, Rebecca, of Greenville, 
N.C., and William Christopher Woody of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; his father, 
Billy Woody and wife, Carol Woody, of Lynchburg, Va.; one sister, Judy 
Dickson and husband, Merrill, of Bristol, Tenn.; his grandchild, Matthew 
Woody of Greenville; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Pahel of Lynchburg. A 
service of remembrance will be at 4 p.m. today at Gallop Funeral Services 
Chapel, 6917 South Croatan Highway, Nags Head, N.C., with the Rev. James 
Thomas Lowery III officiating. Memorial donations in David's memory for
