Harry Harrison DOUGLAS, SR.

Harry Harrison DOUGLAS, SR., age 91, of 614 Cedar Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died 
Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. DOUGLAS, a native 
of Hyde County, was the son of the late Samuel DOUGLAS and Elizabeth Harris 
DOUGLAS and the widower of Annie Ruth Bland DOUGLAS. He was a farm equipment 
operator and a member of the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post # 6060. Mr. 
DOUGLAS is survived by two daughters, Frances STARCHER of Elizabeth City, NC 
and Peggie Bronson of Shiloh, NC; a son, Harry H. DOUGLAS Jr., of Elizabeth City, 
NC; three sisters, Virginia Nobles of Plymouth, NC, Mary Alice BLAND of Robersonville, 
NC, and Elizabeth GIBBS of Engelhard, NC; seven grandchildren; and eight great 
grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 16, 2006, at 11:00 AM at 
Twiford's Memorial Chapel with Minister Blair YEAGER officiating. Burial will be in New 
Hollywood Cemetery with military honors rendered by the William Clarence JACKSON 
VFW Post #6060. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Frances 
STARCHER, 1008 Cedar Street, Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 
East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is in charge of arrangements.
