Mary Cartwright Obituary

June 8th, 1890 Elizabeth City, NC

Departed this life June 5th inst., at her home near Nixonton, Mrs. Mary Cartwright, wife 
of Geo. W. Cartwright, Esq.and daughter of the late Nathan Trueblood,aged 44 years. Mrs.
Cartwright suffered much during her brief illness. She sank rapidly under her fatal malady, 
notwithstanding the careful attention of a skilled physician and the kindly ministrations
of loving hands. In all the relations of life she was a most estimable lady. An affectionate wife 
a tender mother, and a kind and helpful neighbor, her loss will be keenly felt by a wide
circle of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mrs. Cartwright was a consistent 
christian of the Methodist persuasion. Her genial and cherry presence will long be missed in 
this community, for she delighted in kindly deeds, and was essentially a scatterer of sunshine. 
To her bereaved family and kinspeople, we extend every asurance of our hearfelt sympathy 
and regret.
