Missouri Lucille Sawyer DOUGLAS

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - Missouri Lucille SAWYER DOUGLAS, age 72, of 118 Brickhouse 
Lane Lot 16, Elizabeth City, NC, died Saturday Aug. 24, 2002 at Albemarle Hospital. She 
was born Hyde County, NC, daughter of the late John Owen and Martha Dollie O'Neal 
Sawyer and the wife of James Horace DOUGLAS, Sr. Mrs. DOUGLAS was a homemaker. 
Besides her husband, Mrs. DOUGLAS is survived by two daughters, Shirley BARNETT of 
Valdese, NC and Ethelyn BARBER of Elizabeth City, NC; five sons, Charlie DOUGLAS, 
Danny DOUGLAS, and Randy DOUGLAS all of Elizabeth City, NC, James Horace 
DOUGLAS, Jr. of Currituck, NC, and Ricky DOUGLAS of Camden, NC; two sisters Hazel 
LEFTWITCH of Chocowinity, NC and Mattie PIGRAM of Dunn, NC; 18 grandchildren and 
13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson and a great-grandson. A 
funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 11am in Twiford's Memorial 
Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC. with minister Ron STUART officiating. 
Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 
at the funeral home today from 7pm until 8:30 pm and others times at the residence of 
Mr. & Mrs. DOUGLAS.
