Nathan Riggs Forbes ~ 2007

Nathan Riggs Forbes, age 87, formerly of the 700 block Sandy Hook Road, 
Shawboro, and a resident at Sentara Nursing Home in Barco, died Monday, 
Sept. 3, 2007 at Albemarle Hospital. 
Mr. Forbes, a native of Camden County, was the son of the late Simeon 
Forbes and Meddie Riggs Forbes and the widower of Elsie Mae Forbes. 
He was a member of Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired 
produce manager. 
Mr. Forbes is survived by a son, Winfred D. Forbes and wife, Joyce, of 
Riddle, N.C.; five grandchildren, Daphne Forbes Robey and husband, Sean, 
of Camden, Nathan Ray Forbes and wife, Rhonda, of Elizabeth City, John 
Anthony Forbes and wife, Kristie, of Elizabeth City, Paulettte Sawyer 
Mitchell and husband, Rob, of Greensboro, N.C., Tamara Luton Hoffman and 
husband, Robert, of Camden; and 14 great-grandchildren. 
He was predeceased by a daughter, Beatrice Forbes Sawyer. 
A funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Riddle 
Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Roland Cooper officiating. 
Burial will be in the Forbes family cemetery. 
The family will receive friends today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the 
funeral home and immediately after the service in the church fellowship 
hall. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church St., Elizabeth City, N.C. 
is in charge of arrangements.
