Will of Arthur Casse ~ July 31, 1795

In the name of God Amen. I Arthur Casse of Pasquotank County & state of North Carolina Being sick & Weak in low State of health but of Sound mind & form Following that is to say I give Demcy Casse all the land & plantation where I now live formerly belonging to Joseph Madren deseast to him & his heirs forever I give to William Casse the land that Formerly belong to Sary Smithson Des’t. & one negrow gail called Fellir to him & his heirs forever I give to my wife Hannah Casse the land and plantation lying heir up the swamp that Willis now lives on & the two negrows one cald Patience and the other Ione & all the moveable property within Dorrs & without dores to her and her heirs for ever I further move to nominate & appoint Demise Casse & Joseph Sanderlain to be my Executors to this my last will and testament hereby Revoking and disannulling all former wills by me made or bequeathed in writings whereof I have hear unto set my hand and Seal this July 31 1795 Test John Stafford jurat Arthur Casse {seal} Stephen Stafford jurat Sarah X(her mark) Stafford Pasquotank County}September Term 1795 Present the Worshipfull Justices These may certify that the Last Will and Testament of Arthur Casse was Executed in open court by Demcy Casse one of the Executors therin named and proved by the oath of John Stafford and Stephen Stafford who saw the Testator sign seal & Pronounce the said to be and contain his Last Will and Testament and at the Time was if sound desposing mind and memory. The said Exec. appeared and was qualified by takeing the oath by Law Presents order that the Will be registered & that Letters Testamentory issue Arthur Casse Will} Test Enoch Relf CCC Record in Book L folio 36 this 19 Oct. 1795 By Enoch Relfe CCC
