James Casse Will Written Sept. 1777 Recorded June 1778 In the name of God Amen the fourteenth Day of September in the year of our Lord 1777.I James Casse being Sick and weak in Body but of sound and Perfect mind and memory-Thanks be to God for the Same. Therefore Calling to Mind the Mortality of My Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all Man kind once to Dye I do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament writing that is to Say principley and first of All I give and Recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that give it and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to Be Deacently Buried at the Direction of Resurrection. I Shall Receive the same Again By the mighty power of Almighty God and or touching what woridly estate I hath Pleased God to Bless me with this Life I give Demise and Dispose in the following manner—— I give and bequoth to my beloved wife Dorcas Casse duron hur wederhoud or Deces. my Land and all the Rest of my Estate for hor to Rais my children upon and after that the Land and the rest of my estate to be sold for twelve mons Credit and then equelly Devide among my Childering and if my wife Should marrey before my childering is rais I desire my Executor would Rais them upon the money that my estate sels for I also desire my two sons should be bound out to "Jinerl" or hater Trade as soon as thare abel Whom I Likewise constut make and ordine with my brother Willis Casse Thomas Dorcos Hole and soile my executors of this my last will and testement in witness I haf hear upon set my hand and seal the Day and year above writen sined sealed and Delivered in the presence of us James Casse John Casse Jurat aby"x" whorten her mark State N.
