  CLAUDIUS MORGAN'S WILL 6 Nov.1805, Probated Sep. 1823. WIFE: Elizabeth. SONS: Kader; Robert; Joseph. DAUS: Penelope; Betsey. EXEC: Wife; Sons, Robert, Kader & Joseph. WITS: Gabriel Taylor; Miley Morgan. Will of Claudius MORGAN b/Unk d/1823 In the name of God, Amen. I, Claudius Morgan, of Pasquotank County & State of North Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory do this Sixth day of November in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & Five, make and establish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) Imprimis: I leave to my wife Elisabeth, the use of one third part of the land and plantation whereon I now live and the use of all my stock and household and kitchen furniture and farming utensils during her natural life. Item: I give and devise unto my son Kader Morgan the tract of land and plantation whereon I now live to him & his heirs forever. Also one grinstone. Item: I give and bequeath to my two daughters namely Penelope and Betsey, one feather bed & furniture each and one cow & calf each if found in my stock. Item: Should my son, Kader Morgan, die without a lawful heir of his body, the land I have given him to go in the following manner. Viz: for my daughter, Betsey, to have fifty acres and my grandson Wilson to have the remainder. Item: I give and bequeath to my son, Robert Morgan, one hand mill in addition to what I have already given him. Item: I give to my three sons-in-law, Cornelius Clark, William Lang and Malachi Scot, one dollar each in full for their parts of my estate. Item: I leave to my grandchildren Chloe & Wilson one heifer yearling each should they be found in my stock - and all the remaining part of my estate after paying my lawful debts, I leave to be divided equally between my children, namely, Robert, Kader, Penelope and Betsey, and I hereby make and appoint my wife, Elisabeth, my sons, Robert & Kader, and Joseph Morgan, Executors to this my last will & Testament, revoking all former will or wills heretofore by me made. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the day & year first above written.
