Note from Transcriber: RIX BUNDY JR. is listed as Administrator of NATHAN BUNDY’S ESTATE on the Account of the Sale of the Property of NATHAN BUNDY, Dec’d  sold December 13,  1849.

RIX BUNDY JR. should not be confused with RIX BUNDY SR., son of JOSEPH BUNDY and ELIZABETH HENLEY.  RIX BUNDY SR. was educated and taught at Elizabeth City Academy in Pasquotank County, NC.  RIX BUNDY, JR. was the son of NATHAN BUNDY and “HANNAH” as seen on the 20 Nov 1877  Pasquotank County Marriage License issued for his marriage to (LOUISA) JANE (SCOTT) IVES.  RIX BUNDY, JR. was an illiterate tenant farmer who signed his name with an “x”.

Census records dating from 1850 to 1880 differentiates between the two using the appendage “Sr.” and “Jr.” because of their ages. After RIX BUNDY SR.’s death in 1871, reference to the younger RIX BUNDY in the 1880 & 1900 censuses does not include the appendage “Jr.”  The relationship between RIX BUNDY JR. and RIX BUNDY, SR. has not yet been established.
