home. Born in Wilkes County, she was the widow of Thomas Crowder Story Jr. and the
daughter of the late William Thomas and Flora Watkins Higgins.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Kathleen Etheridge and Joe of Raleigh,
Josephine Allen and Edward of South Mills and Glenna Pike and Douglas of Elizabeth City;
five sons and their wives, Thomas C. Story III, Willie Edward Story and Annette, Samuel Story
and Tammy, Richard Story and Teresa and Ronnie Story, all of Hertford; a sister, Novella Adams
of Granite Falls, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Swindell Funeral and Cremation
Services. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Swindell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow
in the family cemetery.
